Academic Enrichment Grants (AEGs)

Purpose

The Undergraduate Student Government's Academic Enrichment Grants serve to make academically enriching experiences that are related to a student's field of study more accessible and affordable. There are a number of events, programs, research opportunities, and educational excursions separate from a student's curriculum that can have huge positive effects on that student's life and can greatly influence what they decide to do in their future careers. AEGs can cover a number of expenditures from computer programs necessary for experimental research to travel expenses for a conference, so long as the student is able to justify the importance of the expenditure and how it relates to their project. Please note that applications will be primarily evaluated on how strongly the student can correlate their proposed experience to their stated learning goals and their field of study. Students who demonstrate a passion for their project, a need for funding, and can thoroughly elaborate on how their proposed expenditures are necessary to fulfill their stated project goals are ideal candidates who will get the most out of what AEGs have to offer. The need for funding will be considered as we have many applicants and want to ensure as many as possible receive enough funding to complete their experience. Awards will be up to $1,200 per applicant per cycle.

A student may not receive financial aid and other resources in excess of the annual cost of attendance at the university in accordance with federal guidelines. If you receive additional financial resources and/or assistance, it may impact your eligibility for other financial aid awards. Please note that a student cannot use their personal grant towards anything paid to or from the University.

Fall 2025

  • Application opens: October 1, 2024 at 12:01 AM
  • Application closes: November 3, 2024 at 11:59 PM
    • Changes are subject to occur. Due to changes in administration, we will be accepting projects that occurred from May 1st - December 30th. 

Spring 2026

  • Application opens: February 1, 2025 at 12:01 AM
  • Application closes: February 28, 2025 at 11:59 PM
    • Projects must occur between May 1st 2026 - August 3rd 2026
    • Changes are subject to occur. 

Summer 2026

  • Application opens: June 1, 2025 at 12:01 AM
  • Application closes: June 30, 2025 at 11:59 PM
    • Projects must occur between August 22nd 2026 - December 30th, 2026
    • Changes are subject to occur.
