Deputy Directors
Liv Schaffer.182 (she/her)
Hi everyone! I am a third year applying for the public health major with minors in molecular genetics and communication. I hope to go into cancer research or public health epidemiology. I originally joined USG to be more involved on campus and have gotten more out of the organization than I ever expected. I ended up making new connections, meeting administrators, planning events, and advocating for students. I have been a part of the health and safety committee for three years and last year I served as a senator in the general assembly. I have worked on legislation regarding mental health, helped organize #MeToo Week and Mental Health Matters Week, had conversations with administrators regarding mental health in the classroom, and helped promote the Ohio State Wellness app. I am so excited for more in person events this year and can't wait to connect with more students!

Morgan Kovis.1 (she/her)
Hello all! My name is Morgan Kovis and I am so excited to be serving as one of the Deputy Directors within the Health and Safety committee for this academic school year. I am a third-year student studying Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience and Philososphy on the pre-law track. Struggles with mental health have been a constant in my own life and in the lives of those around me, so I joined USG Spring semester of my freshman year with the hopes of working actively around altering the culture around mental health at our university and educating students about the resources available. So far in USG, I have had the opportunity to serve on the Mental Health and Suicide Task Force Implementation Team and worked on projects such as the Mental Health Withdrawal Form, the Mental Health Resource Sheet and Wellness Week. Outside of USG, I am a student volunteer for Buckeye PAL and an active member of OSU's student radio organization!
Alex Williams.7401* (she/they)
Hello, My name is Alex Williams, I’m a second-year, Health Science Major and an Integrative Approaches to Health and Wellness Minor on the Pre-Physical Therapy Track from Atlanta, Georgia. After graduation, I hope to further my education and receive my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Then become an athletic physical therapist for a professional or collegiate sports team. I am the current Medical Sciences Senator and the Health and Safety Legislative Coordinator of the 54th General Assembly. I joined the Undergraduate Student Government with the goal of improving the college experience and providing more post-graduate opportunities for marginalized students at a predominantly white institution.
