The role of the President of the Undergraduate Student Government is to advocate for Ohio State Students in the local, state, and federal governments in higher-education policy while representing all 53,734 undergraduate students in academic, financial, and policy decisions at the Ohio State University.

Andrew Pierce is a proud Buckeye and lifelong Columbus Resident. A graduate of Columbus Alternative High School (CAHS) Andrew values education as a tool for lifelong success and social change. He is a third-year, working on a combined Bachelor of Science in Public Policy Analysis and Masters in Public Administration in the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. His major policy focuses are education and criminal justice reform.

Andrew is passionate about university service from helping students move in as a Mount Leadership Scholar to working as an RA in Bowen and Jones. He served in the USG General Assembly from 2019 to 2021 where he worked to increase student engagement and improve residential experiences. As a member of the USG General Assembly he worked to increase diversity and inclusion among administrators, serving on the hiring committee for the Associate Vice President for Health and Well-Being, Dr. Shawnté Elbert.


A co-founder of The WORTH Foundation, Andrew’s dedication to service extends beyond the campus. He spearheads efforts to increase civic engagement throughout Columbus creating spaces to amplify community voices in a diversity of areas. The majority of this work occurs in schools through Civic Education and Leadership Academies. Andrew is an inaugural member of the City of Columbus’ Chief of Police Advisory Panel, where he helped develop recommendations for reforming CPD and helped select the first African-American female Chief of Police, Elaine Bryant.


In his free time, Andrew enjoys playing basketball at the RPAC, watching movies, and playing video games. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in civil rights and constitutional litigation.
