The role of the President of the Undergraduate Student Government is to advocate for Ohio State Students in the local, state, and federal governments in higher-education policy while representing all 53,734 undergraduate students in academic, financial, and policy decisions at the Ohio State University.

Bobby Arthur McAlpine is the current sitting President of the Undergraduate Student Body here at THE Ohio State University. He is a fourth-year double majoring in City and Regional Planning and Political Science. Bobby is a Cincinnati native and attended high school at St. Xavier High School, where he found his passion in public service. While at Ohio State, Bobby has been named as a Morrill distinction scholar and has worked to uplift underrepresented voices on campus. He has served as the second Black Speaker of the USG (54th) General Assembly. Bobby has demonstrated his passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus by creating trailblazing events like Ohio State's First Annual Black History Month Gala, in which ALL students were able to fellowship and connect with one another. Bobby has withstood many setbacks of loosing a friend to mental illness and a grandmother within months, but he still stood tall. He has interned at among other places: Duke Energy, Taft, Stettinius, and Hollister Law firm, and the Southern District of Ohio Federal Court System. He has been awarded the Uplift/Support award from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Theta Chapter and the USG Steen Shaver Assembly member of the year award. In his free time, Bobby loves to bake, cook, and enjoy quality time with friends and family. If you ever see him on campus, make sure to say hey!
