Role and Mission
The Undergraduate Student Government Recruitment Committee at Ohio State plays a vital role in maintaining a vibrant, passionate, and educated membership that accurately reflects the student body we serve. The Recruitment Committee is comprised of dedicated student leaders with their main objective being to identity and attract passionate, and diverse, individuals and inviting them to join the student government through innovative outreach initiatives, informative workshops, classroom visits, and giveaways tailored for student needs.
Projects
Recruitment Tabling
Have helped students across campus learn about USG and become engaged advocates on campus while utilizing updated materials.
Spring Involvement Fair Setup
A new Open House Cabinet model that lets students explore committees through quick interactive stations and a virtual information session.
Community Events
Hosting events such as ‘Meet the Members’ and our ‘Mix & Mingle’ which focus on reaching Living–Learning Communities and other high-engagement groups on campus.

Director of Recruitment
Alena Morales is a second-year biomedical engineering major from Rossford, Ohio. She serves as the Director of Recruitment, and her favorite USG memory was the Fall Date Party, which she enjoyed as a fun way to connect with fellow members.
The Recruitment Committee is responsible for recruiting new members, educating them, and developing their membership. They oversee the application and selection process, ensuring inclusivity and purpose. The committee aims to attract diverse and passionate individuals to join the student government through innovative outreach initiatives, events, workshops, and tailored giveaways. Their efforts contribute to the growth and diversity of the student government community, with a 205% increase in applicants this past recruitment cycle.
