2018 Elections Important Dates & Details

Slates: Must register with the Judicial Panel (email greenwood.97@osu.edu) by Friday, January 19 at 11:59pm. 

Petitions: Completed petitions must be submitted to a staff member during business hours at the front desk of the student government office by Friday, February 2 at 5:00pm. Please find a copy of the official petition at the bottom of this page. 

Campaigning: Begins Sunday, February 25 at 8:00pm, concludes Wednesday, March 7 at 11:59pm. 

Presidential/Vice Presidential Debate: Sunday, March 4 at 7:00pm in the U.S. Bank Theater in the Ohio Union

Election: Voting will open Monday, March 5 at 12:00pm and will close Wednesday, March 7 at 11:59pm

More Information on Petitions: 

In order to be certified and listed on the ballot, all official candidates for president/vice president must collect 500 valid signatures from currently enrolled OSU students.  Candidates for General Assembly positions must collect 50 signatures each, and those wishing to place an initiative/referendum on the ballot must collect 1,000 signatures.  More information about petitions can be found in the Elections Bylaws.

Credenza Space: Ohio Union credenza space use for candidate campaigning will be set up by the Judicial Panel. Details will be posted in the coming weeks.
