The Legislative Branch of USG consists of a body of students elected by their peers to best serve the interests of Undergraduate Students at The Ohio State University. Senators are elected in the Spring of the previous year, and may choose to run as a representative for either their living area, academic college, regional campus (known as emissaries), or living community. Throughout a one-year term, the Senate body will discuss issues and concerns with their constituents and work with University administrators to accomplish individual projects that benefit their peers. In addition, Senators will serve as the “student-voice” on a variety of University Senate committees, and pass legislation that reflects the needs and desires of all OSU undergraduate students.
