Please refer to the election bylaws to determine how you are to run your campaign. This page has general guidelines for campaigning but referencing this page will not be considered acceptable as an explanation for any campaign violation. The election bylaws are what determine what you may and may not do. Refer to the election documents page to download your own copy of the bylaws.
Do Not:
Do not slander or
libel.
Cover and damage
other people's materials.
Do not use anything
from the SOURCE or USG for any campaign activity.
Do not exclusively
advertise upon more than 3 storefronts on High Street.
Do not interfere with
classroom activities.
Do not campaign
within a student-computing site during voting days.
Do not have any
campaign related activities in the Undergraduate Student Government
office.
Do not maintain any
polling site.
Presidential/Vice
Presidential campaign cannot exceed $2000 total.
Senatorial
candidate's campaign cannot exceed $125.
Slate's campaign
cannot exceed $125 per member-candidate or no more than $2000 total,
whichever is less.
Do not use campaign
funds to buy alcohol.
Do:
Follow the Election
Bylaws and any directives from the Director of EGB.
Submit
the name(s) of your campaign manager(s) and treasurer(s); update any
changes within 24 hours.
Maintain an online
Monetary Profile.
Building
campaign team and produce campaign material anytime.
Campaign only between
Sunday March 30th
at 8:00pm and Friday April 11th
at 11:59pm.
Be responsible for
all your campaign members.
Include the
disclaimer in the Bylaws in all campaign email.
Follow
all guidelines set by Physical Facilities Posting and Chalking
Guidelines, Residence Life, Student Code of Conduct, City of
Columbus, State of Ohio, and Federal Law.
Respond immediately
to all requests for testimony from the Judicial Panel.
Clean up all campaign
materials by Tuesday 12:00am April 14th.
