  • Outreach is a serious issue. Being in contact with my constituents is very important to me because I can only come up with so much on my own. I would be best able to meet the needs my constituents if they were aware of the issues being dealt with currently as well as how to bring new issues to the table. This would easily be accomplished through a brief electronic newsletter that would include current dealings and contact information.
  • For me, it is not. Sure, participation in student government looks good on any resume, but if there is nothing behind a title, then what good is that title? My goals do not revolve around collecting "fluff" to fill in my resume. Anything that I choose to participate in is something that I care about enough to invest time into. As a USG senator, I would actively pursue--through participation in committees, initiatives, events, and so on--measures to suit the interests of my constituency and strive to improve their Ohio State experience.
  • I've heard it many times: "USG doesn't really do anything." I would like to see students more actively aware of the influence they have through USG and in the ways that USG is working in the interest of everyone at Ohio State! I do not currently see the outreach by USG that there should be towards students and, therefore, many people do not see just how important their voices can be through student government!

  • Groundhog Day! Why does it even exist? Are we really celebrating a holiday acknowledging that a rodent can forecast the weather based on whether or not he is startled by his own shadow?
