  • In order to keep in contact with my future North Campus constituents, I will implement several important measures. First of all, not only will I continue to publish the monthly report to the constituency via the internet, I will ensure that copies are placed in all North Campus residence halls, so residents will be informed of the proceedings of the USG. Also, I believe that the North Campus Hall Councils should each have the chance to provide input to the North Campus Senator and will attend one Hall Council meeting per quarter and keep open communications with the Hall Council leaders. Additionally, I will set up a Facebook group for all North Campus students, similar to the ones already in use by the respective residence halls. Finally, I will have all residence halls post my contact information, so students can contact me with their questions and concerns.
  • Running for USG senator has to be about more than padding my resume. When you run for any USG position, you have to comprehend the immense mantle of responsibility that you are taking up; running to pad your resume would just be foolish. The responsibilities that I will hold as USG senator are too important for my North Campus constituents, the undergraduate student body, and the entire Ohio State community. As the North Campus senator, I will consistently try to represent North campus and make the best possible decisions. This position will rightly have my total constant dedication.
  • The USG’s largest flaw is lack of visibility. Sure, most students on campus know it exists, but unfortunately few understand its purpose, beyond the fact that it is the student government. The USG should make itself more visible. It needs to expose itself to the undergraduate student body a lot more. Senators should provide updates to their constituencies by email and hardcopy, in addition to the USG website. The USG Cabinet and the USG Senate should each send a weekly press release to the Lantern. This would help show students just how much USG affects their everyday lives and just how important it really can be. This will increase both the number and variety of participants in USG as undergraduates realize just how much USG can do.

  • My least favorite day of the year has to be July 2nd, because every time it comes around I remember how it got spurned as Independance Day in favor of July 4th.
