There’s no excuse for not being connected at Ohio State. The most important point is to take the first step myself – instead of waiting for students to seek me out with problems, I would actively communicate with academic clubs, program advisors, hall councils, and classes in MAPS majors to make sure students know I’m working for them. If elected I would seek out Ohio State’s Astronomy, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Earth Sciences, and Statistics majors through these means to make sure my constituents know that they can voice their concerns as casually as through email or as directly as through attending USG meetings.

It’s unfortunate that so many students aren’t aware of or don’t acknowledge the progress and reforms USG Senate brings to Ohio State’s undergraduates. It’s important to maintain regular communication with constituents, to keep updated on their concerns and to assure them that those concerns are being addressed. Senators need to hold themselves accountable to those who elected them to their position, and USG as a whole needs to keep students educated as to what we’re working on, what we’ve completed, and what’s up next.

I’d like to see USG run more efficiently. While Senate does accomplish a lot now, by streamlining our agendas and cooperating effectively our productivity can increase even more. I’d also like to see more student involvement with USG; not only would it educate more students about what Senate does, but it would be a great way to brainstorm and learn of more issues that are affecting undergraduates.

February 1. You think to yourself that March and warmer weather are only one month away, but then by the time St. Patrick's day rolls around you remember that you live in Ohio and it's still going to be snowing in April.
