  • The first step is to maintain contact with Humanities student organizations. This last year, I have served on the Dean's Student Advisory Group for the College of Humanities; I will continue to serve on DSAG and be a Humanities Ambassador so that students--both current and prospective--can contact me. Student organizations only reach so many of the students, however. I will work with the advisers of all Humanities majors to educate Humanities students as to how USG can help them. This past year, I attended survey courses to introduce myself to freshmen and I will do that again next year. The only way I can be sure that I'm serving all Humanities students is to make sure they know my email and that I'm available to all of them.
  • My record is one of continued service to the undergraduates of this university; I am proud of the policy issues I have dealt with. Since coming to Ohio State, I have Partnered with the Student Wellness Center to promote their financial wellness program Secured $975 for the Philosophy Club's annual conference Initiated a low-cost test prep equivalent to Kaplan that will be offered through the Younkin Success Center Written the textbook policy for the Council on Student Affairs I want to continue my work with the College of Humanities to fix Humanities career services and to make Futurelink paperless so that students can search for internships easier. I am also working with the Associate Dean of Humanities to restructure Humanities survey classes to better serve the curriculum needs of students. I am working to fix the problems that we deal with--not a looking for a tag line on my resume.
  • USG needs to be the voice of all undergraduate students rather than the voice of the year-to-year USG leadership. We need to open a more direct dialog with students, especially graduating seniors, in order to accurately gauge what issues students were dealing with on a regular basis. From there, we can plan a continuing agenda that more accurately matches students' concerns. Additionally, USG is lacking carry-over with its projects. As a returning Senator, I would be able to continue my aforementioned projects within the College and continue my outreach to Humanities organizations.
