  • Every year, people running for USG say that they will reach out to their constituents to make decisions, and every year the number of people who say they've been engaged by USG stays the same. I will make sure I put in all my efforts to making good decisions in the Senate on behalf of Fisher students, and I will make sure as many people in Fisher know me by name as possible. USG is well known, and students can easily reach members of the Senate to discuss important issues.
  • I already have a job lined up for when I graduate, so I'm not running because I need a resume stuffer. This may be true for some people. For me, I'm running because I actually want to help the school.
  • We need to expand FisherConnect to help students aply for jobs. Here's an explanation of my plan to help Fisher students apply and get jobs and internships: - Create an extensive list of companies hiring interns and full time. This will take a lot of the grunt work out of the job hunt. - Work with recruiters to expand firms' presences on FisherConnect, even if those firms aren't doing on-site recruiting. Most of the time, this is a simple case of emailing recruiters and inviting them to join the site. - Working with FisherConnect to create a questionnaire for students - asking them about their interests, ideal jobs, and details of what they'd like to do. Then, this would offer suggestions, for both potential jobs and businesses, which students can then apply to. - Try to bring more recruiters on-site to talk to students in a casual fashion. Most of these are relatively simple to implement compared to how hard it is for students to find the right job. We could create a student organization that helps students in business find jobs and internships- a way for people who have found jobs to help others, or let enthusiastic job hunters help out their peers. We could do this in such a way as to create a resume-building opportunity for people who want to help.
